T-Rex Leather Handbag Heads to Paris Auction at €500K Estimate
BSF Enterprise PLC CEO Dr Che Connon and Executive Director Geoff Baker joins StockBox Media to discuss the forthcoming auction of the world-first T-Rex Leather™ handbag, the commercial potential of Lab-Grown Leather Ltd, and the publication of the Group’s new white paper.
The interview focuses on the upcoming auction in Paris on 11 June, where the T-Rex Leather™ handbag will be offered for sale alongside notable works of art and rare collectable pieces. Dr Connon confirmed that more than 200 people had registered interest in the item, with the auction also being streamed live.
The handbag has been given an estimate of €500,000 by the auction house and its appointed expert, reflecting both the uniqueness of the material and the exceptional nature of the finished luxury item.
Dr Connon explained that the auction represents an important proof point for BSF Enterprise and Lab-Grown Leather Ltd. It demonstrates market interest in a material created through the Group’s platform technology and provides a high-profile route to introduce wider audiences to the capabilities behind T-Rex Leather™.
Geoff Baker highlightes the different route BSF Enterprise is taking from many pre-commercial technology companies. Rather than launching a product designed to compete on price or volume, Lab-Grown Leather Ltd is using an exceptional first product as a commercial and strategic entry point into a market that has never seen material innovation of this kind.
The interview also covers the potential spin-out pathway for Lab-Grown Leather Ltd and Kerato Ltd. Geoff Baker explaines that BSF Enterprise is exploring ways to attract strategic investment at subsidiary level, allowing investors to focus on specific applications of the Group’s technologies while preserving value for BSF shareholders.
Lab-Grown Leather Ltd is no longer at a typical early-stage spin-out phase. Its technology has been proven, its first luxury product has been created, and the company now has the potential to develop further products across different scales and markets.
